DRESS CODE
Our classroom is indoors and climate controlled.  If you run cold bring a hoodie or sweater to wear in class.
Our range is outdoors with covered areas.  Based on the weather forecast bring appropriate clothing.
For the range we recommend close-toed shoes or boots.  Class will be held rain or shine.
4— CLASSROOM + RANGE PROTOCOLS
1— CLASSROOM PROTOCOL
No live ammo is allowed in the classroom.  If you are bringing your own firearm to the course you must ensure your firearm is unloaded and in a safe configuration prior to entering the building.  No exceptions.  You will NOT need your firearm during the classroom portion of the course.  Safely and securely store your firearm in your vehicle until instructed otherwise.

1a— HOW TO SAFELY CLEAR YOUR FIREARM
Follow this procedure to properly clear and empty your firearm.

Point your firearm in a safe direction and keep your finger off the trigger.  Take out the magazine.  Clear the pistol of any live ammunition. Visually and physically check the barrel to ensure your weapon is unloaded.  Lock the slide to the rear and store weapon appropriately.
Do not enter the classroom until your pistol has been cleared and all live ammunition has been stored in your vehicle.

2— RANGE PROTOCOL

Be sure when traveling to the range that you follow Open Carry Laws during transport.
When arriving at the range DO NOT remove your handgun from the case, bag or holster until instructed otherwise.
When exiting your vehicle and approaching the range area DO NOT remove or handle your firearm until instructed otherwise.
Do NOT load any live ammunition into your firearm until your instructors approve you to do so.

2a— UP RANGE & DOWN RANGE
The terms Up Range and Down Range refer to the orientation of a shooting Range.
Up Range is a safe area where other students, instructors and viewers will be positioned.  You must never point your muzzle up range as you will be violating an important firearm safety rule.
Down Range is a designated shooting area where you will orient your fire towards specific targets with a dedicated backstop.  Firearm safety rules still apply when shooting down range.

2b— STAGING AREA
There will be a designated Staging Area (aka "tinkering area") for placing your range bags, loading magazines and preparing for the live shooting qualification.  The Staging Area is oriented Up Range in comparison to the firing line.  At the Staging Area you are allowed layout your gear, load magazines with rounds and prepare to move Down Range for the shooting qualification.  You will NOT load magazines or live rounds INTO YOUR FIREARM at the Staging Area.  Loading your firearm will only happen on the firing line with a directive from your instructors, "Load & Make Ready."

3— FIREARM SAFETY

Always follow these four firearm safety rules.  Failure to follow the rules will disqualify you from the course.

1) Treat your firearm as if it is loaded and dangerous at all times.
2) Do not point your firearm at yourself, your classmates or your instructors.
3) Keep fingers out of triggers until you are on target and instructed to fire.
4) Be aware of what is behind, in front and beside your intended target.

Do not point your firearm at yourself, other students or the instructors.  This rule stands even if you think your firearm is unloaded. Until you are on the firing line and have received directives from the instructors, keep your finger outside the trigger guard and off the trigger at all times. Neglecting this rule can get you disqualified and ejected. If your behavior is deemed unsafe you will be asked to leave the range and you will be disqualified from the course without a refund.
5— WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE A FIREARM?
RENTAL OPTION
If you do NOT own a firearm, or you are not able to bring one to class, you will need to purchase a rental.  We have a limited amounts of rentals each class.  Each rental includes a firearm, 30 rounds of ammunition, eye protection and ear plugs.  If all the rental options are out of stock, do not register and expect we will have a rental for you.

NEW SHOOTERS
You are expected to know how to safely handle, operate and shoot the firearm you bring to class.  We will certainly teach you safe gun handling and shooting fundamentals but you will not receive private lessons on how to handle, operate and shoot your firearm in this class.   The shooting qualification will consist of 30 rounds, firing 10 rounds from the three, five and seven yard line on a B-27 Silhouette target.  We require all rounds to stay within the 7 ring (7, 8, 9 and bullseye area hits count). You must hit 26 or better to qualify under our standard.   If you need help prior to the course we suggest setting up a private lesson.  Click HERE to set up a private lesson.

** FAILING PORTIONS OF THE CLASS **
You are required by law to pass BOTH the shooting qualification and the written examination to receive your Concealed Carry Certificate from our company.  If you fail both the shooting qualification and the written test you will have to take the course again.  If you fail only one part of the test we offer a special private lesson for $100 to coach you in the required areas and allow you an opportunity to retest.  If you pass you will receive your Concealed Carry Certificate following your retest.  If you fail the retest you will be required to take the course again.  No exceptions.
